Relationship trust issues

Well me and my girlfriend have been going out for about a year. Problem is she lives about 500 miles away. Most people say long distance things never work out, but ours is going good. My only problem is I have a huge trust issue, I'm not sure why, but I do. Maybe the distance, low self conifdence. I'm not really sure, but I'd be open to any ideas.
