Live for your purpose
by Not Stated
"If you were meant to cure cancer or write a symphony or crack cold fusion and you don't do it, you not only hurt yourself, even destroy yourself. You hurt your children, you hurt me, you hurt the planet. You shame the angels who watch over you and you spite God Almighty, who created you and only you with your unique gifts, for the sole purpose of nudging the human race one millimeter further along its path back to God."
Stephen Pressfield, The War of Art.
As soon as I saw this quote, I was at a low point in my life. When I read it, it reminded me that it is foolish to wallow in self-pity and complain about how bad things are. Life is hard, but if we all work together and do our best, we can make it more than merely a getting-by existence.
I printed this out and tacked it to my cube, and my coworkers stopped by and told me how much it meant to them as well.
